Tutors
Each CELTA course at the BERLIN SCHOOL OF ENGLISH (Centre number DE206) has a team of CELTA tutors (usually three), one of whom acts as the course leader. When not involved in a CELTA course, all of our tutors are busy teaching English in the school, and training and directing the team of 40 English teachers who work at the school.
Dominic Braham MA (TEFL), Cambridge DTEFLA
Dominic has taught English for over twenty-five years and has been a trainer on over 100 CELTA courses in Britain, Austria, Spain, Poland, the United States and Germany. He has also run DELTA courses in Spain and has been a tutor on the British Council/International House distance training DELTA course. He has been running CELTA courses in Berlin since 1998 and has been head of the CELTA Teaching Training Centre at our school since its foundation in 2004. He is a appointed assessor for the CELTA and DELTA qualifications.
Helen Down BA, Cambridge DTEFLA

Gui has taught English for fifteen years and worked as a CELTA trainer in France, the UK , Portugal, the
Guy Oorthuys BA (Hons), Cambridge DELTA
Guy has been an English language teacher for 10 years and has taught in
New Zealand, Argentina, and Germany.He currently works as Assistant
Director of Studies at the Berlin School of English. He is also a
Cambridge oral examiner.
Eoghan Dockrell MA, Cambridge DELTA
Eoghan has worked in English Language Teaching since 1993. He has taught in the south and west of Germany and has been with the Berlin School of English since 2001. He has taught business English, as well as general English and exam preparation courses. After completing the DELTA qualification in 2005 he became one of the Director of Studies at the school and is an approved CELTA tutor. He has also worked as a tutor for German language and literature at University College Dublin.
Sue Herbert BA, Cambridge DTEFLA
Sue has taught English for over twenty years and has worked in the UK, Turkey, Italy and Germany. She moved to Berlin in 1991 and has taught general and business English, as well as working as a teacher trainer on CELTA courses, on seminars for German state school teachers and as an oral examiner for Cambridge and IELTS exams. She is now the Team Leader for Cambridge ESOL oral examiners in Berlin. She was senior teacher at the British Council, Berlin from 2000 to 2003. She is also a Local Tutor for teachers following the British Council/International House Distance DELTA course.
